Default How to Use Skype?

Category: Fun

Skype is fast becoming one of the most popular means of communicating.

It’s far less expensive that traditional phones, and if you have it installed on your laptop you can stay in touch no matter where you travel to.

To begin using Skype you will need a computer with a fast Internet connection, headphones with a mouthpiece that can be used as a microphone, and if you want to take advantage of the video option, you will need at least a 2.0 WebCam.

Next you will need to go to the Skype website and download their free software.

You will not be able to use Skype without the software installed on your computer.

Once you have downloaded their software you will want to open an account.

Although there are some free features with Skype, if you want to use Skype in or Skype out, you will need a credit card when you sign up for your account.

You may also choose to signup with your Paypal account and use it to add money to your Skype account.

When you are done opening an account you can then search for your friends online and add them as contacts. To do this, simply go to search and once you find your friends you add them to your contacts.

You can do this at no cost and your credit card will not be billed.

You can use Skype Out to make calls to any mobile phone are landline.

There is a charge for long distant calls, though long distance fees tend to be less than the traditional long distance fees that you incur when you use a landline.

Another service offered by Skype is called Skype In.

This service is very convenient for those who are away from home and want to give friends and family a local number to call so they are not charged long distance.

For a small yearly fee you can reserve a phone number in any country and give that number out to friends and family so that they can call you at no cost.

Additional services of Skype include their voicemail, which is available at an extra fee.

This is a useful service so that callers can leave you messages, even when you are away from your computer, or your computer is turned off.

If you own a PDA with wireless LAN, you can use Skype on it by downloading the pocket pc version and use it right from your PDA.

Additionally, it is possible to use a regular phone with your Skype account, although it is necessary to keep your computer switched on at all times if you plan on using Skype as your primary phone service.

If you have been searching for a way to reduce the amount of money that you spend on phone service, Skype may be just what you have been looking for.
